What Our Customers Say

“Terry’s is a great lunch spot. I go there often. The burgers are inexpensive and quite good. Everything I’ve had here is good (though I generally get a cheeseburger). This is inexpensive, no-frills bar food that tastes great. The wait staff are attentive and personable. Those in the know in Topeka eat at Terry’s.”

“Driving through Topeka, Terry’s is an amazing little stop. Great burger and poppers, pool tables and nice bar feel with TVs. And the prices are very reasonable. Love it!”

—Brandon J.

“Very large offering of sandwiches and other meals. One of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches in town. Black Angus burgers and fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce are excellent. Terry the owner is almost always there to run the place - as he has been for 25 or 30 years! Very loyal customer base for lunch includes a lot of downtown Topeka business people, legislators and local judges. “

“Terry’s is a great place, and a Topeka landmark for a reason. They have the best bar food in town! Wonderful open faced roast beef sandwiches, and fantastic burgers. They do to go orders for people who want to take lunch back to work….they never forget to include ketchup and mustard packets!”

—Lee Ann M

“Great burgers, good salads and all the beer. Honest portions of local fare with good service even in rush lunch hour.”

History

Terry’s is a family owned local business that has been a favorite fixture in downtown Topeka since 1976. Terry and friends have steered the Mike McDonnell Golf Tournament for over a quarter century contributing many thousands of dollars to Washburn University scholarships, Midland Hospice, and various other charities. Terry first entered the bar business by buying Park Inn Tavern, then moving on Sixth Street to own The Ginza Club. The addition of a full service kitchen changed the business to Terry’s Bar and Grill. He welcomes back many friends every day, and invites new ones to enjoy the casual atmosphere of one of Topeka’s warmest and hard working staffs.
